CLASSICAL YOGA (LEVEL 1) with PRUDENCE
CLASSICAL YOGA PRACTICE (LEVEL 1) WITH PRUDENCE
This yoga practice and discussion by Dr. Prudence Farrow Bruns will serve as an introduction to Classical Yoga (traditional, Himalayan yoga), which has been practiced in the Himalayas for centuries.
The uniqueness and effectiveness of this ancient practice lie in its powerful impact on the affects of stress. Through a deep and attentive process of stretching and relaxing, Classical Yoga effectively releases stress held throughout the body, bringing it to a quiet, receptive and more relaxed state. The unique aspect of this practice heightens the awareness of silence within more than most modern styles of yoga because the poses are performed very naturally with attention turned inward, allowing the "ancient asana itself to bring the body to more supple, subtle and healthy stages."
This will be a Level 1 Classical Yoga practice, suitable for all levels. A day workshop and also a yoga teacher certification in Classical Yoga Level 1 will be offered at a later date.
This yoga practice/discussion is CEU eligible for Yoga Alliance RYTs (2 to 2.5 Contact Hours)
DATE: Sunday, October 29; 1-3pm
